From Baton Rouge: Juicing Made Easy at The Big Squeezy

In a city known for its decadent foods, from thick gumbo brimming with seafood and rice to pecan pralines sweeter than sugar, a new healthy eating alternative is getting a big embrace from the capital city.

The Big Squeezy is the place in Baton Rouge to get your daily dose of fruits and vegetables fresh and just pressed. Owner Kim Matsko is passionate about health. Along with opening the first juicery in Baton Rouge , she also founded and teaches at  Yoga Bliss. Matsko is striving to raise awareness that it’s not just how your body looks, but also what you’re putting into your body that matters.

With ingredients that run the gamut from kale, spinach, and cayenne to red beet, watermelon, and green apple, this is the perfect place to jump start a diet with one of their custom blended juice cleanses or convert to a new lifestyle. All of the ingredients are locally sourced from a sustainable farm in Clinton, LA and cold pressed to maintain as many of the enzymes, vitamins, and antioxidants as possible. The all vegan offerings here also include smoothies, dairy-free mylks, and shots including the famously daunting wheatgrass, something that taste so peculiar, it must be great for you.
