One of New Orleans Fashion Week’s newest designers to join their team and show their collection on the runway was Rogersliu, who produced 28 looks of modern womenswear. The collection had strong looks, but lacked when it came to precision. Many pieces were still a bit rough around the edges. A majority of the pieces were white and featured accents of bright yellow, green and fuchsia. There was use of both jersey cotton and chiffon, which was very interesting. Many tops were sheer and revealed the models pasties underneath. This, and the clothing malfunction that happened to one of the models on the runway, may make a buyer question the pieces’ ability to be worn. Rogersliu showed many pieces with splatter paint effects and had dyed the bottoms of their long, white dresses with the bright colors seen throughout the collection. This was fun and different, but was not executed properly. These details made some garments look sloppy, and may make reproduction harder.
