Burn It Down Mixtape from MUSA

Taking a cue from Paris is Burning, local DJ MUSA has released a groovy new mixtape that feels like a tour of the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s.

First, you need to add the movie to your Netflix queue. The 1990 documentary profiled New York City vogue ball culture giving thoughtful exploration of race, class, gender, and sexuality. It also gave us all of the classic phrases making their rounds on the Real Housewives of Wherever including, “shade” and “reading.”

Then strap on your tallest platform shoes and twirl around your bedroom to the mix live recorded on 6/5/14.
