01. EAT & DRINK
Purloo offers Southern regional fare with a lowcountry influence. Expect pan-seared drum, smoked beef short ribs, and a variety of locally sourced specials by chef/owner Ryan Hughes. While the food is delicious, for the price, the portion sizes do not offer the same Southern hospitality. Where Purloo really shines is its historic bar, built in 1851. Hop up at the bar, helmed by bartender Carmine Potenza, to taste local favorites like a Polished Pimm’s or an Old Fashioned. There are also seasonal delights using fresh, local ingredients. Your best bet is to stop by for lunch and stay for happy hour.
